When I hear the author Jules Verne, along with his book cover that is the picture of a sky, I knew this is the type of book about adventures and the beauty of travel.
I learned as well when watching the movie Back to The future Part III, Doc named his children: Jules and Verne, for the love of his science fiction writing.
However, upon reading the first several pages, aside from witty gestures I found a bit seriousness to it. It's not really about the beauty of travel (wanderlust), but its more on the adventures and the unique character of Phileas Fogg.
He took a bet that he could circumnavigate the globe in 80 days or less.
The overall themes are easy to digest and most importantly, witty.
As for the ending, I could understand why it is called science fiction, as this was released in the 1800s. Although unexpected, it was a simple twist and clever (didn't see it coming)
